All three globes were there and in good shape so I grabbed them thinking I would use them for some of our outside lights as ours didn't have any. Sadly, they did not fit as the mouths were too small. They became abandoned in the garage...............<br />
<br />
UNTIL we had a Secret Santa party at work a few days before Christmas and one of the gals had made an angel out of a fan light globe. OMG it was the cutest thing I think I have ever seen. She used a glass ornament on top of it and some tinsel around the neck and a pipe cleaner for the halo. <br />
<br />
Well, you know me..................<br />
<br />
I just had to try my hand at that, especially since I had three globes just sitting in my garage waiting to be crafted upon.<br />
<br />
So..............I gathered all the Christmas tinsel and ribbon I could find and set to work. This is my finished masterpiece<br />

Have been busy this summer working, out of state. Actually commuting to CO everyday but I really like my new job. Will probably move down there one day but not ready just yet.<br />
<br />
I have recently gotten in to woodworking as well. Made a little table to set my bbq'er on, on my little balcony. I'll share a picture of it later.<br />
<br />
The latest thing that has caught my eye is this bench made out of a headboard and a footboard.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CORaO9XT4WM/V7CQpMcHMPI/AAAAAAAAB0o/GinNtlwyRRwBNpoDbmFi0VRlinW_Wk_ZwCLcB/s1600/Headboard-Bench.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CORaO9XT4WM/V7CQpMcHMPI/AAAAAAAAB0o/GinNtlwyRRwBNpoDbmFi0VRlinW_Wk_ZwCLcB/s320/Headboard-Bench.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And I found a headboard and footboard at a garage sale last weekend for $10. And it's pretty much just like this one. The lady said it was a twin size but I believe it is a full size but either way it should work.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MExIiGqMpFM/V7CQ1KWrbSI/AAAAAAAAB0s/5UK9WDlSO4IwlBvPWQZRVQjJ1GmxZy9ZwCLcB/s1600/headboard-footboard.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="192" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MExIiGqMpFM/V7CQ1KWrbSI/AAAAAAAAB0s/5UK9WDlSO4IwlBvPWQZRVQjJ1GmxZy9ZwCLcB/s320/headboard-footboard.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I have already cut the footboard in half<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SMfHGvwwRkU/V7CQ67aisBI/AAAAAAAAB0w/MvOeaM64A5gXISRrtoeZGXCjl3y8mtHTQCLcB/s1600/footboard%2Bcut%2Bin%2Bhalf.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="192" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SMfHGvwwRkU/V7CQ67aisBI/AAAAAAAAB0w/MvOeaM64A5gXISRrtoeZGXCjl3y8mtHTQCLcB/s320/footboard%2Bcut%2Bin%2Bhalf.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I have altered it a bit more today, trying to make it fit the headboard
where I want it to and where it will best fit, round parts to square
parts, if you get my meaning, lol! I haven't taken any pictures of that yet but I will tomorrow probably. I will be out there working on it tomorrow anyway. I'll keep you posted.<br />
<br />
(Update: Finally got the photos to upload properly, not sure what that was about but they are there now so..............Enjoy!<br />
<br />

Took me about two hours and I had them done. It is a simple pajama pant pattern that I have altered to fit me perfectly and I make them out of suiting fabric. They look just like suit pants when I'm done and they are so comfortable, I just love them.<br />
<br />
Anyway, I had a navy blue and white blouse to wear with them but no jewelry so I decided to make some. I found a few different blue beads at the store but I think the ones I got matched the best.<br />
<br />

We had a friends birthday tea party there the end of last April but this year we did a Valentine's Day Tea Party there and it was FABULOUS. The owner had it decorated up a bit and we all brought a little valentine for each person. It was so much fun. I get right in to tea parties like this. <br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I made myself a heart necklace and earring set.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zKIIv8t71lU/VsSqCuGkXRI/AAAAAAAABz8/LU8DOulVNnw/s1600/Jody%2527s%2BRed%2BHat%2B%25281%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zKIIv8t71lU/VsSqCuGkXRI/AAAAAAAABz8/LU8DOulVNnw/s320/Jody%2527s%2BRed%2BHat%2B%25281%2529.JPG" width="240" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I bought a red hat at a flea market here in town to wear. I cleaned it all up with a lint removed and a damp cloth. It was pretty dusty.</td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Then I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a red feather, a sparkly butterfly, some red flowers and some other little feathers and decorated the hat to my liking. It fit beautifully and looked amazing. Everyone just loved my new red hat!!! </td></tr>

Still have one I want to finish before the big day but here's a few I have been working on............ oh and I want to give Tim's tag a try too.<br />
<br />
The first one I made, even before the little matchboxes, was a new canvas for the 'infamous' picture frame I have that hangs beside my front door. You may remember it...............it's the one I have been making different canvases for, for each season. I think I started with a Halloween theme so still have about a half a year to go.<br />
<br />
Anyway, here's the one I did for Valentine's Day.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EBMJZuUMVjo/VrSmbdDHn7I/AAAAAAAABx4/D87HdKeIhYg/s1600/P1130689.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EBMJZuUMVjo/VrSmbdDHn7I/AAAAAAAABx4/D87HdKeIhYg/s320/P1130689.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Not sure if I like this one or not, it seems to be missing something. I used just all scraps that I found in my stash of collectibles, lol. I seem to have a fetish for charms and things that dangle. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AcIBOqpCGIE/VrSmbsjUqVI/AAAAAAAAByE/cMM_fwfMsX8/s1600/P1130691.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AcIBOqpCGIE/VrSmbsjUqVI/AAAAAAAAByE/cMM_fwfMsX8/s320/P1130691.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I found this heart in my collection so I added a few more beads and such and then used one of Tim's pins to hold it on there. I had to actually pierce it thru the chipboard though as the bottom heart, the big one, is encased in silver or some type of heavy metal and it is heavy. I had originally attached it with some glue dots and it kept falling off............so, I got tired of that and had to man handle it to get it pinned through the chipboard but I was successful.<br />
<br />
The word valentines was cut from my Cricut years ago out of shrink film. Don't remember the actual project I made it for but after I shrunk it, it was too small. Therefore, it was deposited in little file drawer that holds all the other rejects, or save for another day trinkets. Anyway, today it was salvaged and put to good use, and it was the perfect size.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-t6ayehJxZI8/VrSmaoP4lRI/AAAAAAAAByE/6jUfrvpkAag/s1600/P1130690.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-t6ayehJxZI8/VrSmaoP4lRI/AAAAAAAAByE/6jUfrvpkAag/s320/P1130690.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The brown speckles in the middle of the canvas were done with some embossing paste that I colored vintage photo with a drop of reinker and the new stencil I received as part of the gift I won from the 12 tags of 2015-Christmas. I wanted to match the browns in the ribbon and the '14' wooden letterpress numbers. I think I should have added a bit more or maybe not quite so much right in the middle as it kinda looked like dog shit when I got done. TOO late now, lol. I just tried to find some other things to cover some of it up with, lol. And the 'love' metal piece I added some red tulle to each side.<br />
<br />
I added an eye screw to the bottom of the 4 and hung the word 'heart' and put a little bling on it. I think it still needs something though. I think I may add a spot of red paint to the top of the 14, it may add something.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-n1UpmgBGDPk/VrSmcyeNd3I/AAAAAAAAByE/6CaYLcisS1M/s1600/P1130692.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-n1UpmgBGDPk/VrSmcyeNd3I/AAAAAAAAByE/6CaYLcisS1M/s320/P1130692.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
My embossing techniques still need a little work but I won't give up. On to bigger and better things.<br />
<br />
Another project I have been working on is a banner to display in my living room. A few years ago I came across a sheet of cardstock that had these little Valentine flags on it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EtniBbxdM2I/VrSwRgE6l2I/AAAAAAAAByQ/MJjCoA3Mgac/s1600/001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EtniBbxdM2I/VrSwRgE6l2I/AAAAAAAAByQ/MJjCoA3Mgac/s320/001.jpg" width="232" /></a></div>
They were perforated around all edges and I just really liked them. Have not any idea what the brand name was because I punched them all out and threw away the negative side and then never did anything with them. I decided I wanted to make this banner and when I went searching for some ideas, I found them in my stash. <br />
<br />
There were only five designs and the word 'valentines' has 10 digits so I needed two of each design. I scanned them in to my computer and printed out another sheet of them on white cardstock. The colors are not spot on but once they were incorporated in to my design, no one would be able to tell. <br />
<br />
I started with a black background which I cut around each with a decorative pair of scissors-pinking, it was called. Then I went for pink. On this layer I used a Martha Stewart heart punch across the bottom and I inked all the edges with festive berry distress ink. I then inked all the edges of the flags with black soot and added those as my next layer.<br />
<br />
Then I went to my Cricut cartridges to try and find a font I liked. Found one so then it was on to the correct size. Started with 4" and that was way too big..................ended up with 2 1/2". Inked those with festive berry distress ink. Now, how to hang it???<br />
<br />
Went to Pinterest to look at some different ideas on how to hang a banner and found a cute idea where it looked like they added a couple of strips of ribbon to each side on the top and then strung another one through the loops. I liked it so I tried the same thing................and it worked. Love the results.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y-0Fl03nFOQ/VrS00nAoKPI/AAAAAAAAByc/K3Vw6XocYLg/s1600/P1130675.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y-0Fl03nFOQ/VrS00nAoKPI/AAAAAAAAByc/K3Vw6XocYLg/s320/P1130675.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PMxsRO3Vw5Y/VrS00wLGmPI/AAAAAAAAByg/ZMkL8WUVhxs/s1600/P1130676.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PMxsRO3Vw5Y/VrS00wLGmPI/AAAAAAAAByg/ZMkL8WUVhxs/s320/P1130676.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-srJ5ttLh-Q8/VrS01TEJ3FI/AAAAAAAAByk/1WQvF9ZXxGc/s1600/P1130677.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-srJ5ttLh-Q8/VrS01TEJ3FI/AAAAAAAAByk/1WQvF9ZXxGc/s320/P1130677.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I also found some adhesive backed felt hearts in my stash, 10 of them exactly, so I added one to each flag. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y8rMdyitd20/VrS04E7IMvI/AAAAAAAABys/xxvcZPSmEnM/s1600/P1130679.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y8rMdyitd20/VrS04E7IMvI/AAAAAAAABys/xxvcZPSmEnM/s320/P1130679.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I cut each ribbon loop to approx. 1 3/4" and folded them in half. I slipped them over the edge of the black and under the pink layer just enough to attach them with the tiny'tacher stapler. Worked perfectly!! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YYf7s9q4lCc/VrS05t7tQTI/AAAAAAAAByw/B_-2rfD94pI/s1600/P1130680.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YYf7s9q4lCc/VrS05t7tQTI/AAAAAAAAByw/B_-2rfD94pI/s320/P1130680.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tTNj_feXt3g/VrS07LYFTKI/AAAAAAAABy0/cnSQivUlKgU/s1600/P1130681.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tTNj_feXt3g/VrS07LYFTKI/AAAAAAAABy0/cnSQivUlKgU/s320/P1130681.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Just love how it turned out. This will be one decor item that will be brought out each year for years to come.<br />
<br />
Have one more little project that I wanted to share but this post is pretty long already so I will save it for another day.<br />
<br />
Hope you have a great day,<br />

I love making little gift holders or just something little to put little candies in. Just recently I picked up the matchbox steel rule die at a LSS (as local as it gets around here anyway, which is 50 miles down the road in Ft. Collins, CO). Anyway, I was dying to give it a try so I grabbed a piece of cardstock that was just laying on my craftroom table, it happened to be red, and I die cut the matchbox and assembled it. So dang cute.<br />
<br />
I had also been cutting out some hearts for some cards and so I had the movers and shapers hearts laying out. Inside the matchbox die is a little square magnetic piece that can be removed so I took it out and added the smallest heart and cut another one with pink this time. OMG, did it turn out so dang cute.<br />
<br />
I also found in my stash a piece of like mauve vellum so I covered the heart from the inside with that and it made the cutest little box. See what you think........<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NRAwnzhYiQs/VqZvTApvRHI/AAAAAAAABw4/dddSmpNUTEo/s1600/Valentine%2527s%2BMatchbox%2B%2B2016%2B%25285%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NRAwnzhYiQs/VqZvTApvRHI/AAAAAAAABw4/dddSmpNUTEo/s320/Valentine%2527s%2BMatchbox%2B%2B2016%2B%25285%2529.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I added a little bow and a small sticky heart and I am going to fill them with pink M & M's. I'll pick some up at the store next time I'm there. Aren't they adorable???<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jl-WAimSJqs/VqZvybz9YhI/AAAAAAAABxA/ZOmjJ9UrcWI/s1600/Valentine%2527s%2BMatchbox%2B%2B2016%2B%25286%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jl-WAimSJqs/VqZvybz9YhI/AAAAAAAABxA/ZOmjJ9UrcWI/s320/Valentine%2527s%2BMatchbox%2B%2B2016%2B%25286%2529.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RCbew4KltXw/VqZvymDI0cI/AAAAAAAABxE/DivifqFJ46o/s1600/Valentine%2527s%2BMatchbox%2B%2B2016%2B%25287%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RCbew4KltXw/VqZvymDI0cI/AAAAAAAABxE/DivifqFJ46o/s320/Valentine%2527s%2BMatchbox%2B%2B2016%2B%25287%2529.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I also made a card too.....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-esQya42ZfTM/VqZwr-V5GHI/AAAAAAAABxc/m5b54UxFETc/s1600/Valentine%2527s%2BCard%2B2016%2B%25282%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-esQya42ZfTM/VqZwr-V5GHI/AAAAAAAABxc/m5b54UxFETc/s320/Valentine%2527s%2BCard%2B2016%2B%25282%2529.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I started with a black base and found some cream/black paisley cardstock
in my stash so I put that down next after inking the edges, of course.
Then I cut out some pink hearts and inked them with black on the
outside edges too. I wrapped a dark pink ribbon around the paisley
cardstock before I glued it down. Then I added the big heart first and
then the smaller heart with a pop dot to give it some dimension. I had
some different ribbon that had words on it so I cut out one and glued it
to the dark pink ribbon. Then I made a little bow out of some sheer
pink ribbon and added it to the small heart.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RKi7LrCaQJ4/VqZwsSUTbqI/AAAAAAAABxg/iFTEfdX20Wo/s1600/Valentine%2527s%2BCard%2B2016%2B%25286%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RKi7LrCaQJ4/VqZwsSUTbqI/AAAAAAAABxg/iFTEfdX20Wo/s320/Valentine%2527s%2BCard%2B2016%2B%25286%2529.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
On the inside I glued a black heart that had been embossed with pink words (from a project a few years back) to a pink heart that I had traced around the scalloped heart spellbinders die and just cut it straight instead of cutting the scallops. Then I die cut the 'hugs & kisses' from one of Tim's decorative strip dies and inked the edges black as well. I found some pink bling in my stash as well so I added that to the bottom. Not sure I liked that but by that time it was stuck, lol. I then used a small pink heart with which to sign my name.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-as6Rn_08l2g/VqZwrKBrgjI/AAAAAAAABxY/WBN6OVjhCwQ/s1600/Valentine%2527s%2BCard%2B2016%2B%25283%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-as6Rn_08l2g/VqZwrKBrgjI/AAAAAAAABxY/WBN6OVjhCwQ/s320/Valentine%2527s%2BCard%2B2016%2B%25283%2529.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Well I have a few more cards to make so better get started. I am pretty on top of it this year so I may come up with some others before it's over. Hope you all have a great day and thanks for checking me out.<br />

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PgVLfJckmLA/Vnw3n72WA2I/AAAAAAAABv4/vwVZv3ro7j0/s1600/P1130656.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PgVLfJckmLA/Vnw3n72WA2I/AAAAAAAABv4/vwVZv3ro7j0/s320/P1130656.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Have been wanting to make one of these signs for a long time. I
purchased a 1x8x10 that was on the clearance rack and had them cut it down to 6'. Then I sanded down the edges to deter any stickers. I
wanted it to be a soft muted blue color so I used white acrylic paint
and added some military blue to it and also some black. I painted both
sides and then kinda slapped the paintbrush around to give it some
texture.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tBord8VbNNw/Vnw3p7j4K9I/AAAAAAAABwE/VrPeHNbH-x0/s1600/P1130658.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tBord8VbNNw/Vnw3p7j4K9I/AAAAAAAABwE/VrPeHNbH-x0/s320/P1130658.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I printed out the letters on my printer at like a size of
770. Then I went around the outline on the back with a dark lead
pencil. I placed each one on the board about 1 1/2 inches apart and
outlined each letter. I then painted each one with just white paint.
When dry I outlined each letter with a fine black marker.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-N5F6HvBFZL8/Vnw3pepLF_I/AAAAAAAABwA/qpGKi3V8DHU/s1600/P1130657.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-N5F6HvBFZL8/Vnw3pepLF_I/AAAAAAAABwA/qpGKi3V8DHU/s320/P1130657.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Then I tore apart an old wreath I had in my stash. I hot glued some of the branches to the top and sides above the 'N'. I added a good sized red bow and a gold bell that was tied with another little red bow. I hot glued them on as well. The I added another little patch of branches as the bottom below the 'L' and added another gold bell.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DfN8HIJcYgE/Vnw3rPh1vUI/AAAAAAAABwQ/Th1WLD4uumE/s1600/P1130659.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DfN8HIJcYgE/Vnw3rPh1vUI/AAAAAAAABwQ/Th1WLD4uumE/s320/P1130659.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Then I found a few small pinecones laying around my house and thought they added that last little touch it needed.<br />
<br />
So cute....................for the first one. There are a few things I would do different but those will have to wait for next time.<br />
<br />
Hope you are having a great holiday season!<br />
Hugs,<br />

<br />
Just wanted to show you another take on Tim's December tag. I actually used his inspiration for my Christmas cards this year with a little twist. I used his lamppost die for my center piece instead of the wreath and I used some rusted metal snowflakes instead of the star. Well I started with some rusted metal snowflakes but realized early on that I didn't have enough so I duplicated them with some grungepaper and some brown paint with a little dry glitter thrown in or actually on, literally. They turned out good.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I cut the 'believe' from his script holiday words in red and then sprayed them with heirloom gold</td></tr>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The yellow light in the lamp post, I used some plastic packaging and covered it with some sunshine alcohol ink</td></tr>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">So do you think the snowflakes look like they are metal?</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I covered the back of the tag with some darker tan and stamped Merry Christmas on them with a couple of smaller snowflakes and signed them. Got them in the mail just this past Monday. Good thing too because we had a pretty good snow storm here on Tuesday. About 6-7" I think they said. <br />
<br />
Hope you are having a joyous crafting holiday season.<br />

She would have been 54 years old today. She has been our guardian Angel for 34 years now. Love and miss her so much.<br />
<br />
A few years ago, or maybe it was just last year, Tim posted an inspiration piece from one of his media team members named Emma Williams. She called it Winter Wonderland. Well, I just got mine done. I loved how she made the sleigh 3D and the jingle bells vintage looking. I actually just fell in love with the whole thing and decided to make my own.<br />
<br />
I went to Michael's and got a platform for it and so it began. I covered it with gesso, texture paste and distress glitter to get the snowy effect. I made up the sleigh and the 'reindeer' and got them all painted. Then I tried to put it all together one day and realized my platform was much longer than the one Emma used. It must have thrown me off quite a bit because I stalled out, right there, lol. It sat on my buffet all year. I just kept looking at it, and looking at it, every time I walked by. It finally donned on me that I just needed to add some extra trees, like more than she had on hers. But by then, Christmas was had long past and the passion for it had left me.<br />
<br />
When I was putting out this year's Christmas decorations, I had to move the little platform with falling down reindeer and sleigh to another place. Well it ended up being put IN the buffet for safe keeping. I got all the decorations done and then one day it popped in my head that I should finish that little Winter Wonderland. So I salvaged it from the depths of the old buffet and took it into my craft room. I mussed and fussed with it, for most of the day, finding little trinkets and bells and things that I could decorate it with. And it is finally done, over a year later, lol. See what you think.<br />

I am so pleased with how it turned out. Glad I waited for the inspiration to return and I'm glad too that it did return. Loved the old world feel to it. Hope you like it too.<br />

I just happen to have some homemade peanut butter fudge sitting on my counter and was scheduled to have lunch with a girlfriend today. So in the spirit of Christmas, I ran over to Hobby Lobby to see if I could get some of the baby mason jars. SCORE...............they had four or five packages. Armed with my weekly coupon I purchased one package and quickly ran home to wash them out and fill one with said fudge. <br />
<br />
I then plugged in the hot glue gun and proceeded to glue a piece of burlap to the top of the lid. I inked the edges with walnut stain first and then glued it down in a few places around the lid. Then I strung a little gold bell on a red ribbon and tied it around the burlap with a bow. I inserted a wreath branch in behind the bell.<br />
<br />
I added one of my little gift tags and tied the little gold thread around the whole thing. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wsM2A4s2NKI/VmpCUBJq8AI/AAAAAAAABt4/nOPGE4Jss9I/s1600/Mason%2BJar%2Bfudge.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wsM2A4s2NKI/VmpCUBJq8AI/AAAAAAAABt4/nOPGE4Jss9I/s320/Mason%2BJar%2Bfudge.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
As I was headed out the door to go to lunch, I remembered to take a photo. It's not a real good one but you can get the idea. It was quaint and cute and well received! What a great idea!!<br />

I was especially drawn to the burlap background. He does such amazing work, I love trying to replicate his projects.<br />
<br />
I had some burlap on hand but most of the other stuff I had to duplicate another way.<br />
<br />
The scroll stencil I didn't have so I used the negative piece of his Elegant Flourishes die that I had in my stencil box.<br />
<br />
The paper punches I didn't have but I did have the Festive Greenery die so I cut the branches out one at a time, that took a long time, lol. I believe they are somewhat larger than the punches but I made them work.<br />
<br />
I didn't have the bow tie die either so I free handed it, lol. It turned out pretty good, good enough anyway.<br />
<br />
I didn't have the jingle brads but I did have little bronze and gold jingle bells. The bronze ones I used just like they were and the gold ones I covered in silver mixative. It helped tone down the gold a bit, it worked.<br />
<br />
I used an old stencil brush with some white acrylic paint to make snow splatter and.........................<br />
<br />
the words I had to print off the computer. In order to make the background black, just use the excel spreadsheet and type out the words like you want them. I used to have a font that looked alot like some of his stuff but it crashed with my last computer so alas I had to use a different font. I will find the other one again though and reload on my new computer again. Anyway, you just have to make the background black in the cells where you typed your words and it will print that way. Pretty cool huh!<br />
<br />
I didn't care for the sewing on the card so I decided to forego that, besides my sewing machine is covered with other things right now and the thread would not have matched.<br />
<br />
I didn't have the mirrored stars either but I did have some clear pearly ones which I covered with mushroom alcohol ink. It turned out well.<br />
<br />
Tim didn't say what he colored the seam binding with at the top of the tag so I used some walnut spray stain on mine and added it.<br />
<br />
Love how it turned out. I love the vintage rustic look of it.<br />
<br />

<br />
I had a rather unique experience happen a couple of weeks ago and it really got me motivated. I received an email from PayPal saying that I had been paid $XX for some Thanksgiving die cuts that I had in my Etsy shop, 5 YEARS AGO. I had to scramble to find a picture of what the person ordered so I could make them and get them in the mail. I was so surprised! And I still don't know how they found the item to purchase it. I hadn't done anything with my Etsy shop for over 5 years, but I never closed it either. The pictures of the items I had in it were still there but the listings were expired. Still kinda baffles me. I sent an email to the person that ordered them asking but they never responded. <br />
<br />
Anyway.........................it got me motivated.<br />
<br />
I have since made some beautiful jewelry<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hi everyone, have been keeping busy making more Halloween cards. I was poking around Pinterest and came across an old technique that Tim did on a Christmas tag back in 2008. He painted a tag black and then clear embossed a flourish on it. Over the top of that he painted some juniper paint. Before it dried he wiped with a cloth over the top of it, leaving the embossed flourish showing thru.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I decided to try it with some Halloween colors. I used black cardstock instead of painting some black but then I clear embossed this Raven stamp I have. It is about 4 x 5 so it covered most of the front of the card. Then I painted over it with orange paint. Using a damp cloth, I swiped over the entire thing leaving the stamped images free of paint.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I added some other embellishments across the front along with a couple
of bats and a spider that I made out of shrink film. The gray web
looking stuff is actually cheesecloth that I colored with Pumice Stone
Distress stain. The 'hocus pocus' words are stickers. Love how the
background turned out.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-402aXHbRN3U/VihSU9uHQII/AAAAAAAABq0/443Dr3JyxxE/s1600/Raven%2BCard%2B2015%2B%25281%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-402aXHbRN3U/VihSU9uHQII/AAAAAAAABq0/443Dr3JyxxE/s320/Raven%2BCard%2B2015%2B%25281%2529.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The other one I made, I used a another technique that I saw on Pinterest. Apparently it was a technique that Tim used in his latest online class, somewhat altered. They used aluminum foil to cover a piece of cardstock, glued it on. Then they embossed it with a leaf flourish. Then they covered it with black paint to get it in the crevices and wiped the excess off.<br />
<br />
So.................. using my Halloween inspiration, I covered a piece of black cardstock with aluminum foil. I let it dry a little first so it wouldn't crack or tear. Then I embossed it with the spider web embossing folder. Then I covered that with black paint and wiped the excess off. It turned out really cool looking, don't cha think?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Zbd4_ya1C-o/Vij_0FudzTI/AAAAAAAABrI/qRA7vuwP3nM/s1600/Foil%2BSpider%2BWeb%2B2015%2B%25283%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Zbd4_ya1C-o/Vij_0FudzTI/AAAAAAAABrI/qRA7vuwP3nM/s320/Foil%2BSpider%2BWeb%2B2015%2B%25283%2529.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I added some orange cardstock under a black 'Happy Halloween' ribbon, a big spider I die cut and coated with glossy accents. A couple bats, a crossbones and a die cut '31' round out the rest of the embellishments.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hhH6qU2tki4/VikBreRMQRI/AAAAAAAABrU/W-TTJQBMNmY/s1600/Foil%2BSpider%2BWeb%2B2015%2B%25281%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hhH6qU2tki4/VikBreRMQRI/AAAAAAAABrU/W-TTJQBMNmY/s320/Foil%2BSpider%2BWeb%2B2015%2B%25281%2529.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I still have a witches' hat I wanted to decorate. Have had it for several years and never got it done so I'm thinking now is the time. I used to wear black halloween hats to the "Black Hat Society" tea parties I used to attend when I lived in FL. Really miss those ladies and those tea parties. One of them, Gloria, actually sent me an invitation to the Halloween tea party she's giving this year. Sure wish I could attend. I'll make and wear my hat and be there in spirit. Love you girls!!<br />

I have all my decorations out and I bought a pumpkin for the front porch.<br />
<br />
I have also been making some cards and stuff. First I made this like panorama out of a cigar box. I saw one similar on Tim Holtz's blog that was made out of his configuration boxes and I didn't have any of those. I am trying really hard to just use what I have and not buy anything else, I have so much. So..............I made mine out of a cigar box and I made all the little boxes inside myself out of chipboard. The bottom one I made a drawer so you can pull it out and drape something over the top of it. I had some Gasparilla beads that had skulls and crossbones on it so I cut it up and used some of them. I used some Tim Holtz ideology, bottles, and letterpress letters as well as some other things I had in my halloween arsenol. I even decorated the lid so when it's open it looks like it belongs, then I can close it again.<br />

<br />
I have also put together a couple of cards. The first one I used Tim's spider web embossing folder and a big black sparkly spider. I cut the 31 from some orange foil that's in my stash. Love the wide black/white ribbon with a button stitched on. See what you think.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I used the same Halloween Script thinlits to make the 'happy halloween' letter on the inside of the card.</td></tr>

<br />
I have really taken a liking to the fall season since I have moved back to WY from FL. The cooler temperatures are so awesome. I am still able to have the windows open a little bit at night, there is a fabulous cool breeze that blows through, I love it!<br />
<br />
The leaves have started to fall from the trees and soon the colors will become so vibrant that I will need to make another trek up to the mountains (oh darn!) to see them all. In the meantime, I have created a little reminder as some home decor. Somewhere in my travels I ended up with this great frame and when I unpacked here I put it on a hook in my living room, knowing that sooner or later I would find something to put in it. Well, it hung there long enough without anything in it that a good friend made comment to me, something about an empty picture frame hanging on the wall, lol!<br />
<br />
So, I decided to change that. Here is what I came up with<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Jyvc2VnJGhM/Vfwm7mi1BZI/AAAAAAAABoo/emJfeKGnxnk/s1600/P1130453.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Jyvc2VnJGhM/Vfwm7mi1BZI/AAAAAAAABoo/emJfeKGnxnk/s320/P1130453.JPG" width="240" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I started with a plain piece of chipboard from the back of a tablet. Covered it with gesso and then some Distress Stains in autumn colors. Then I added some 'bricks' with some embossing paste and one of the Tim Holtz stencils and inked them up as well. </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ygH3SLBYkX8/VfwnMOxGkDI/AAAAAAAABo0/QF7w9_YVUXA/s1600/P1130454.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ygH3SLBYkX8/VfwnMOxGkDI/AAAAAAAABo0/QF7w9_YVUXA/s320/P1130454.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I found some little wooden letters in my stash and was quite tickled to find the actual letters I needed (FALL). I added some Distress Stains to them in Peeled Paint, Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade and then sprayed them with water to make the colors bleed together. Then I inked the edges with Vintage Photo. The 'has' was printed from a label maker and the 'fell' was from one those old Dymo label makers so no stamping here. </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yLzbf7XBheE/Vfwm4T3jWKI/AAAAAAAABog/oXbFJ2uDPGM/s1600/P1130455.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yLzbf7XBheE/Vfwm4T3jWKI/AAAAAAAABog/oXbFJ2uDPGM/s320/P1130455.JPG" width="240" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The leaves were made from the Tim Holtz Layered Leaf die and embossing folder. I first smeared out some distress inks on my craft sheet and sprayed it with water and swiped a manila folder through it to get the coloring. Then I cut out the leaves and embossed them and inked them with Walnut stain.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-e1HUCVG2oqQ/VfwnVe8CCmI/AAAAAAAABo8/2LvlPVmGDLg/s1600/P1130456.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-e1HUCVG2oqQ/VfwnVe8CCmI/AAAAAAAABo8/2LvlPVmGDLg/s320/P1130456.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I added a piece of wire mesh under the letters but over the top of the bricks for some dimension and a few embellishments in the top right hand corner. I also found a metal leaf in my stash and hung it from the mesh. It just kinda spoke to me when I found it, lol. </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I wanted to enter it into the <a href="http://frillyandfunkie.blogspot.com/2015/09/stamps-be-gone.html" target="_blank">Frilly & Funky Challenge Blog</a> Stamps be gone, hence no stamping here! This will make a great home decor item for years to come!Jodyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00877603475868254366noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6399855184416542192.post-40789969109832755002015-03-08T11:47:00.000-04:002015-03-08T11:47:12.276-04:00It's St. Paddy's Day again............OMG, am I ever glad I wrote down all those user id's and pw before I left FL, lol, I would have never found this blog again. My memory is getting worse and worse. As you can see I haven't been able to get back here very often and I don't remember things that are not used on a daily basis, and even that's iffy, lol!<br />
<br />
Anyway, Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone. I have been busy making some tags and now I want to make a banner and a few cards. I still have about 10 days or so but I better get busy.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jVL_SgIAmlY/VPxocRfrKeI/AAAAAAAABno/A4SHt2ixgco/s1600/P1130327.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jVL_SgIAmlY/VPxocRfrKeI/AAAAAAAABno/A4SHt2ixgco/s1600/P1130327.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Here are the tags that I have been working on. I just did the usual distress stain swipe on the tags to start with. I used Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and Pine Needles. Then I did the technique that Tim used on his March tag. I stamped my shamrocks and embossed them with clear embossing powder. I didn't have the stencil he did but I had the eye chart one so I used that. I covered it in areas with embossing paste and then sprinkled gold embossing powder over it and left it to dry. (Probably could have gotten a bit more on the one on the right, I think that's the one I did first, can ya tell, lol) That's a very cool technique. Didn't realize that you could cover that embossing paste with embossing powder, leave it to dry and then come back to it later and hit it with the heat gun and it would still melt and turn shiny. What a cool idea, I love it.<br />
<br />
I found some 'gold coins' in my stash and I used the little hole maker of his to put holes in each side of the coin and also in the top of the wish bone. I threaded some jute string thru the holes and tied it in a bow on the other side. I typed "Happy St. Patrick's Day" on the computer and printed it off on plain white paper and then distressed it with ink and cut it out to fit in the oval charms. Had some little metal charms in my stash as well but they were silver so I covered them with some gold alcohol ink and wiped off the excess.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Then I just used some cream colored seam binding dipped in the same distress stains in the hole at the top. I attached everything with jump rings to a pin and pinned it to the seam binding. I glued another tag to the back of each one (cuz they were kinda messy) and added a sentiment there. And I inked them up well.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-es885KgbRfQ/VPxoe-Ecx6I/AAAAAAAABn8/wTxaLDFBf7E/s1600/P1130328.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-es885KgbRfQ/VPxoe-Ecx6I/AAAAAAAABn8/wTxaLDFBf7E/s1600/P1130328.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Added some little shamrocks and a hat to the back, as well as a little stamp. See the jute tied in the back, that worked out well, lol. </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Anyway, that is what I have come up with for my St. Patrick's Day tags. Hopefully I will get some cards done now and a banner. I'll be sure to share with you, if I do. Hope you all have a lovely week and may the Luck of the Irish be with you!</div>

Really miss it when I can't get my hands inky, lol!<br />
<br />
Have been working on my Annual Christmas Tea Party plans and of course the invitation has to come first. I was wanting to make something that was vintagy looking, kinda lacy too. Wanted them to look old fashioned. I am going with the blue/cream/white theme this year so created the invitations using the same theme. Had a piece of old white lace and some light blue tulle (I think that's the name for the netting). Printed the actual words on the computer and printed them out. Roughed up the edges and inked them with vintage photo ink. Had some light blue cardstock for the base so did the same thing with those. Layered the lace first, then the tulle and then the invitation. Used Tim's OTE die 'distressed doily' and made a 'gate' closure for the front. Inked it up with vintage photo as well. Attached them to the sides around the back and then used another blue base piece to cover that up. It also added a bit of sturdiness to the whole thing too. Tied the gate with a piece of shiny blue ribbon and a little tea pot charm in the middle.<br />
<br />
Then I stamped a little cup and some steam to the fronts of the envelope and inked the outside edges of them as well. Here's a peek at the finished product. Hope you like it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-i7iTZfXBvLs/VF5Ha87NJ6I/AAAAAAAABmw/XBwCw_eu_FI/s1600/Christmas%2BTea%2BParty%2BInvitation%2B2014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-i7iTZfXBvLs/VF5Ha87NJ6I/AAAAAAAABmw/XBwCw_eu_FI/s1600/Christmas%2BTea%2BParty%2BInvitation%2B2014.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Will hopefully get them done this weekend so can get them in the mail soon. Have Tuesday off as it's Veteran's Day so can maybe get them finished up then, if not this weekend. <br />
<br />
The weather here has been fabulous. This fall has been the most enjoyable one I've had/seen in a long time. I've so missed the changing of the seasons and all mother nature had to offer. The trees have all lost most of their leaves and winter is about to set in. The temperatures this weekend are supposed to be in the 50's but come Monday the highs will only be in the 20's and it's supposed to be snowy and windy. Fall has lasted longer than normal this year, which is good. It's been getting me used to the cooler weather. I surely don't miss the heat of FL but am not sure if I'm completely ready for the cold of the WY. Am excited for the first big snowfall but don't care for the cold wind. I do enjoy the cool breezes that blow but am probably not ready for the cold wind, lol. It will definitely be cool to see the season changing even more. I kinda feel like this place has so much more character. In FL it's hot and green, all the time. Here, with the changing of the seasons, it seems like when things change, it gives you the anticipation of new things to come.<br />
<br />
Anyway, I'll keep you posted on the weather and the Tea Party plans. Am hoping to inspire some of my dear friends around here to be a part of my tea group. There is only one tea house in Cheyenne so we will have to each host a tea party at our homes once a month, so am hoping to collect like 10 others to participate. It will be fun to see how it all plays out.<br />
<br />
Hope you have a terrific weekend,<br />
Hugs,<br />

I am finally up and running again in the craft room. It's been 8 months since I last saw my craft room in working order. It still needs some pooffing but it is in working order, pretty much, and OH how I have missed it. It feels so good to be back in the saddle again. Have made a few more coffins this year. They were nothing fancy but I still love how they turn out. <br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">A couple of them I added black netting to, just experimenting. I love the results!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Notice the netting on the one on the right, kinda hard to see but it looks so cool in person. The one on the left I added some orange glitter to her stockings with some glue and a toothpick.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The one on the right here has the netting. I also added a raven and a black cat that I cut out of some velvet paper. They added a whole new dimension to the view.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: small;">So, ya, there we have it, some cute little coffins to decorate with. Think I'll run over to the dollar store and see what I can find to fill them with. Maybe some orange tissue paper and some candies??</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: small;">Hope ya'll have a fantastic Halloween, crafting and decorating your hearts out!!!</span></div>

There is a little quilting shop in this town but they didn't carry it, nor did Joann's so I had to go to Ft. Collins, CO (about 45 miles south) to a little place called Loopy Ewe. It's a bit expensive but I do really like the designs. <br />
<br />
I found a little foot stool at a garage sale a while back and wanted to recover it with the Tim Holtz fabric. I used some foam that I found stashed in one of my mother's closets. I found some iron interfacing to stiffen the fabric a little. I removed all the legs and the old fabric and covered it right up. So cute!<br />
<br />
Had a little fabric left so I made a little pillow from the same fabric. It actually is a pillow cover so I can take it off and wash it. I made the actual pillow out of muslin and then put the pillow cover on it. I found some cute trim at Walmart so added that to the sides. <br />
<br />
They both turned out so cute. They will match my couch and loveseat really well. I think I might make some curtains out of the same fabric when I get in to my new place.<br />
<br />
See what you think!!<br />
<br />

So anyway, I look forward to decorating my new living room with these fabrics as soon as I can get moved. I have a permanent full time job now so it won't be long.<br />

Hope you are enjoying your summer!<br />

I have reconnected with some old friends and made some new ones. I have been working two part-time jobs just to keep me afloat but last Friday, I was offered a full time job with the County, YAHOO! <br />
<br />
All of my things are still in storage but they will be coming out soon now, now that I have a full time job. I will start looking for a place of my own. Want to buy but housing here is at a premium so that may have to wait a bit longer. Can hardly wait to get my papercrafting supplies out and start playing. I have been staying busy, just in other ways.<br />
<br />
I planted a garden for my stepfather since he is unable to do that himself any more. If nothing else, it gives him some bragging rights. The garden is growing beautifully. And I have to laugh because I have never planted a garden in my life, lol. <br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The beginning-planted everything over Memorial Day weekend </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">This is what it looks like today 07/27/14</td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
We planted a large variety, you could say. My stepfather brought home a bunch of seeds and I planted them. We planted them indoors first and then transplanted them out back in the garden area. They have quite a bit of hail here so we put a canopy over it, made of 6 mil plastic and some pvc piping and a couple of 2x4's. Carpenters we are not but so far is has held. The wind has ripped it up more than the hail, but will keep repairing it until we can get a harvest, about 30 more days.<br />
<br />
We have tomatos, beets, peas and sugar peas, cucumbers, carrots, cabbage, sweet pepper, butternut squash, yellow squash, zucchini, onions and potatoes. Had some radishes too but they have been eaten already..<br />

And I just realized that I didn't take a picture of the zucchini and it's the biggest plant there is out there, lol!<br />
<br />
I also have been building things. I went to a barn sale with my mother one Saturday a while back and found this great old door with all these little windows in it for half price. I paid $14 for it, what a steal. I have been wanting to make a potting bench so I turned the door on it's side and built a potting bench around it. I used the instructions from a blog I have been following now for a while called <a href="http://backwoodscottage.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Backwood Cottage</a>.I just changed the back of it to incorporate my door and then used some old barn wood I found out along side my parents house across the back. See what ya think!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UnxLtUU14xs/U9VZZDskyeI/AAAAAAAABlg/douN2go0dZ8/s1600/Potting+bench+008.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UnxLtUU14xs/U9VZZDskyeI/AAAAAAAABlg/douN2go0dZ8/s1600/Potting+bench+008.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I also bought some scroll hooks for the shelf that is above the door, which you can hardly see. Up top, I attached a scroll wall decoration that I had in storage (and could reach) across the back. Then I painted it all white. I just love it. Can't wait to have my own place again so I can start decorating.<br />
<br />
Sorry it's been so long since I yakked at ya. Things are starting to fall in to place here now so hopefully I will be able to get back here more often.<br />
<br />
Hugs,<br />

My daughter drove out with me and we had a great time. It took us about 3 1/2 days (we left Friday afternoon about 4 p.m.) because we got waylayed in Waxahachi, TX (not sure of the spelling there) because of an ice storm. Waxahachi, TX is south of Ft. Worth about 40 miles or so, I believe.<br />
<br />
We had stopped there to get new wipers on the u-haul because the stuff was freezing to the windshield and I couldn't see. The wipers sucked so I went next door from a gas station to a place called NTB (think that stands for National Tire and Battery) and the man there would not come over to the gas station and measure the wipers. Probably because he was to large to walk that far, I'm guessing. There was a little ditch between the two and you had to walk around, out on the road.Anyway, he said there was a Wal-Mart down the road a ways and they would have wipers too. We did the find the Wal-Mart and some very nice people that helped us there. The whole problem was that I didn't know what size wipers fit the u-haul. Now if it were my SUV, I would have know that but since I didn't we had to get someone to come out and measure them. Which was not a big deal, except it was storming outside and I mean storming. It was raining down little ice pellets and the ground was freezing right before your eyes. They even closed the Wal-Mart Garden Center because the floor had gotten so icy. It was then that I knew that we were not getting out on the highways again that day. We found a McDonald's that had free wifi service and got on the laptop and found a hotel that was close by. We did end up getting back on the highway for about a mile but it was at a snail's pace. There had actually been two accidents just in the time that we went that one mile. Those Texans are not used to that kind of weather and they really don't know how to drive in it. We hung out at a Super 8 motel until the next morning, got lots of sleep. The next day we struck out again. <br />
<br />
It was a good thing we got lots of sleep the night before, because we ended up pulling an all nighter the next night. We were getting so close to our destination and the roads were clear and dry and we were tired of being in that truck so we just kept going. I drank some more coffee and had a couple of cat naps at places we stopped to eat at and kept going. We arrived in Cheyenne about 5:20 a.m. on Tuesday morning. We were tired but wound up (coffee just does that to me), but safe and alive. Woohoo, what a ride!<br />
<br />
I am earnestly job searching and planting roots here in my home town again. The weather is cooler here and I like that. My post menopausal state and that hot FL weather were not getting along well, AT ALL, lol! I have re-connected with several friends and have also visited the only scrapbook shop in town. I have inquired about teaching some classes there so I can get to know some creative friends here. The lady I talked to said they were always looking for new ideas so maybe the owner will call me. Most everything thing I own, including all my papercrafting supplies, are in storage. I have been doing alot of knitting with my mother so that has kept me busy and my mind occupied. I will be excited to get my own place again and spread out my supplies and get to crafting again. Until then, I hope life is treating you well and it's all you want it to be.<br />

Hugs,<br />

I am in the process of moving so have been absent from the blog for a while and I will be absent again for a while after this post. When I get all settled again, I will get back in touch with you all.<br />
<br />
The cards were made from my stash. I purchased nothing. Have vowed to use what I have first because I have SOOO much stuff that has never even been removed from the package, ha! Can any one relate to that, lol?<br />
<br />
Anyway, I used a Martha Stewart punch to punch the border along the bottom of each card. Then I placed a 1" piece of alternating colored cardstock underneath to pop it up. Quite by accident, I 'stenciled' on to the inside because I inked before I added the 1" piece. I liked it so I decided to do that to all of them. Don't you just love how those little 'accidents' prove to be so perfect. Another unintended addition is the brown leather looking piece. I was using some old Christmas wrapping paper to pack dishes with and when I got to the end of one roll, instead of the regular brown tube, there was this piece of heavy brown kraft paper. It was so cool. I cut a long piece to fit my cards, soaked it with water and wadded it up into a ball. Squished and smushed it pretty good, until it had some dominant creases and then I laid it out on my craft table to dry. When dry, I cut 1" pieces of it and inked them with Walnut Stain distress ink. They added the perfect touch to my vintage Valentine's Day card, I thought. See what you think.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">I just love snow at Christmas time and I was missing my folks so I decided to take the plunge and go home for Christmas. It snowed yesterday morning and was so beautiful to see. It's been 9 years since I've seen snow at Christmas time. This is a shot out the back door of my mother's house looking towards my step-father's garden.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">We also made some divinity. I haven't had any divinity for 9 years either because you can't make it in Florida and have it turn out correctly. And man I wanna tell ya, this batch turned out so perfectly, it was still in the mountain that we poored it out in to the pan in. And tasted magical, just melt in your mouth. Love it!!!!!</span></div>
